Band Members

Angie Rees (lead vocals)
Angie grew up in England and began singing early on. She moved to the States when she was 12, and pursued her passion for music throughout high school and college. In college, she learned to play guitar after being inspired by the Beatles, and began playing in local coffee shops. Her musical journey continued when she discovered the local blues scene in Atlanta, and she has been in love with the blues ever since. The artists that most inspire her are Etta James, Susan Tedeschi, Freddie King, and Koko Taylor.

Angie brings passion and energy to her performances, and makes an instant connection with any audience. She possesses immaculate pitch, timing and vocal power which she channels in service of the blues.

Ben Karp (lead and thythm guitar, vocals)
A chance encounter on the radio with a powerhouse blues performer out of Texas changed Ben's life forever. After his discovery of Stevie Ray Vaughan, he began his quest to master blues and roots guitar styles. His many influences include SRV, Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Jerry Garcia, and other greats, which he melds into his unique brand of fluid lead and rhythm guitar playing. Gifted with a deep and powerful voice, Ben also performs covers of Johnny Cash and J.J. Cale songs. Ben has 20 years of stage experience performing with 100th Monkey, Chicken Fat Music Co., Five Day Drive, Liz and the Tomcats.

Dave Miner (bass)
Inpired as a kid like so many by the Beatles, Dave began on guitar but soon switched to bass. He was a founding member of Atlanta's foremost hard rock punk glam band The Razor Boys, who headlined at the Agora Ballroom, 688, CW Shaws and Roses Cantina, and opened for the likes of AC/DC, The Ramones, The Dead Boys, and David Johansen. A stint living in Hollywood saw Dave playing famous venues like The Troubadore, The Gas Light, Madame Wongs, Rajis, The Central, and The Waters Club.

Lee Wiggins (drums)

Originally from Florida, Lee started playing drums in grade school and continued as a music major in college playing in Jazz/Big Band and Orchestra. From 1989 to 1995 Lee played with bands ranging from funk/jam to Goth- Rosewater, including Dingo Fish and Elizabeth. He also toured the Eastern U.S. hotel circuit in a Top-40 cover band.

Since moving here in 1995, Lee has been the drummer in several Atlanta bands including Jondonson, Tonohoney and The Stacey Cargal band, as well as a substitute drummer for Cadillac Jones and Liz and the Tom Cats. Starting in 2009 Lee joined the 4-piece funk ensemble East Ponce Soul Faction. Highlights for EPSF include touring the Southeast with The New Mastersounds and back-to-back opening gigs with Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk.

Lee plays in a wide range of styles- but his favorites are funk and soul, finding inspiration and influences in Levon Helm (The Band), Joseph “Zigaboo” Modeliste (The Meters), and Joe Morello (The Dave Brubeck Quartet).

Clay Daspit (rhythm & lead guitar)
Inspired by the fertile music scene of New Orleans while learning to play guitar, Clayton adds a funky, grooving foundation to the band's rhythm section. He has a wide range of influences from Charlie Christian to Jimi Hendrix, and the master of funk guitar, Leo Nocentelli of The Meters. He has played in the Rennie Fletrich Band, The Ultimate Moments, Apollo Creed, and Liz & The Tomcats. Clayton is the band's computer nerd, handling web site duties when he isn't building electric guitar effects.
